Hello, my name is Denise Acton, owner and sole proprietor of Natures Remedies.  My career in the health field began immediately following graduation in 1986 with a Master's Degree in Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation from (formerly) George Williams College (now Aurora College) in Aurora, Illinois.  Very basically, my commitment to health and wellness guides my Life's journey to be the best health care practioner and teacher so that I might help as many people as possible benefit from the gifts of good health.

My experience in various medical settings includes working in cardiac rehab labs and clinics around Chicago, before moving to Michigan in 1989.  I also taught health, wellness and nutrition programs for Illinois College of Optometry and for Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn.  My extensive background in nutrition and health eventually brought me to work for a medical distributor of various products sold directly to physicians as well as hospitals. Following many long hours in cardiac catheterization labs, observing and assisting with surgical procedures by cardiovascular surgeons, vascular surgeons and cardiologists, I branched out into pharmaceutical sales, where I not only continued my education of all the pharmaceutical drugs but I also learned how the various drug companies marketed and sold their products.

In 2000, I began my studies in the natural health field, training in herbology, homeopathy and all the natural modalities available thru Clayton College of Natural Health. I have always been a proponent of natural methods of healing vs. pharmaceutical drugs, wherever possible, believing that preventive maintenance is key to the optimal and excellent health we should all share as our goal. I have taken extensive training in Iridology, massage therapy, master herbalist and other related course work completed as a Certified Natural Health Professional.  I  have just fullfilled all my requirements for my Doctorate of Naturopathy studies, and now hold my Doctor of Naturopathy degree.

I opened the business of Natures Remedies in November 2005 with the intention of  continuously expanding products and services offered to customers to better their health. I continually strive to bring the highest quality herbs and organics for the betterment of my clients and customers. We offer various service modalities in nutrional assessments, reflexology, iridolgy and massage therapy. I also teach nutrition classes at the store location on Wednesday evenings, during the school year.  I have also taught nutrition classes for two physicians' patients in the area.  Dr. Timur Baruti of Leslie, MI and Dr. Martin Gleespen (Integrated Health Care of Chelsea, MI).
